So it's good to me to access the ultra-low level system, I don't what a COM interface. keep in mind that my aim is to receive input from any remote controller, even TV ones. I would not be writing here if the cir was bound to a COM port, but it is not! So I'm stuck, because I don't know what API I have to use to at least read from the receiver: the only pertaining info I found on msdn is this, but I don't think that I should look in driver stuff. ![]() N evertheles, I can see two device in the device manager, under the HID hub: one called "ENE CIR receiver" (and its driver is by ENE), and another called (tranlsating from italian) Microsoft eHome Infrared Transceiver (driver hidir.sys): so, if I'm not mistaking the word transceiver, it should be able to transmit data too. Açklama: ENE CIR Receiver Driver for HP Pavilion dv6-1384et This package contains the ENE CIR Receiver Driver for the supported notebook/laptop models and operating systems. I have a notebook with a built-in CIR unit, and here a first doubt comes: it seems that CIR are able only to receive data, not transmit the manufacturer looks to be ENE. First time I post here, so forgive me if the question is not in the riht section.
